Despite rumors swirling around his future, Tom Selleck has no intention of retiring anytime soon. With Blue Bloods coming to an end after a successful 14-season run, many fans assumed the veteran actor might hang up his badge for good. But at 80, Selleck is still passionate about acting and excited about what lies ahead.
One of his top priorities is reviving the Jesse Stone film series, a role he’s long been connected to. He’s expressed interest in exploring where the character would be now, older and perhaps even more complex. For Selleck, it’s not about chasing roles—it’s about finding ones that speak to him and allow him to keep telling meaningful stories.
He’s also teased the possibility of returning to his Western roots. A fan of horseback riding and outdoor work, Selleck has said he’d love to collaborate with someone like Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. A reunion with longtime friend and fellow cowboy Sam Elliott is also something he’d be open to.
In the meantime, Selleck continues to live on his California ranch, where he enjoys the hands-on work and peace of rural life. Though he’s embracing the slower pace off-screen, he’s made it clear: he’s not done yet.
